Overview
Automatically mark a LearnDash lesson or topic complete when an instructor manually grades its quiz with a passing mark. This removes the awkward step where a learner has already passed but still has to return to the lesson to mark it done themselves by clicking the “Mark Complete” button.
Some LearnDash quizzes — essays and open-ended questions, for example — require an instructor to grade them by hand. Normally, even after the instructor grades the quiz, the learner must go back to the lesson or topic to complete it. This module closes that gap: once the essay response is marked graded, the associated lesson or topic is marked complete automatically.
Common use cases:
- Courses with essay or open-response quizzes that require manual grading.
- Reducing back-and-forth where learners pass a graded assessment but their lesson stays incomplete.
This module targets manually graded assessments specifically, working alongside LearnDash’s native quiz grading workflow rather than automatically scored quizzes.
Configure It
Enable the module to have manual passing grades complete the associated lesson or topic automatically. There are no additional per-item settings.
Important: If the lesson or topic contains additional quizzes that have not yet been passed, it will not be marked complete. Completion only triggers once every quiz requirement for that lesson or topic is satisfied.
Usage
An instructor grades the quiz in LearnDash. As long as no other quizzes on that lesson or topic remain incomplete, the lesson or topic is marked complete automatically — the learner doesn’t need to return and complete it manually.
can this work when the person get a respective grade in an H5P quiz?
No, for that you would need our Tin Canny plugin, which can support completion based on H5P activity.
i bought extra this plugin can you explain me where i can set it up now? ( H5P quiz )
Hi Dominik, you should definitely open up a ticket so we can get more context about what you’re trying to do. Please note though that this is for LearnDash quizzes only, not H5P. The only plugin of ours with H5P support is Tin Canny.
