Adding Credits to Student Transcript

Show learners how many continuing education credits they have earned (and how many are still available) right on their transcript. When you run Uncanny Continuing Education Credits alongside the Learner Transcript module, a credits column appears automatically on each enrolled course.

The Learner Transcript module in Uncanny Toolkit Pro gives learners a single page that lists every course they’re enrolled in, along with progress and completion details. When the Uncanny Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) plugin is also active, it extends that transcript with an extra column showing the credits earned or available for each course.

This is most useful for organizations that award CEUs, professional development hours, or any unit-based credit and want learners to see their running totals without leaving the transcript. Because credit labels in the CEUs plugin are configurable, the column heading reflects whatever you call your units — for example, “Hours” instead of “Credits.”

Setup

Both pieces need to be in place before the column appears. There’s nothing to configure on the transcript itself — the integration is automatic.

  • Enable the Learner Transcript module. Activate and configure it in Uncanny Toolkit Pro so learners have a transcript page to begin with.
  • Install and activate Uncanny Continuing Education Credits. This is a separate plugin. Once it’s active and your credit values are set up, the column is injected into the transcript automatically.

Note: The credits column only appears when both the Learner Transcript module and the Uncanny CEUs plugin are active. The column heading matches the credit label configured in the CEUs plugin settings.
