Creating Tables

Both WordPress Editor and Divi Builder include many formatting options to make your content editing process easier, but there are certain things that they cannot do—creating tables is one of them. This means you have to resort to HTML coding when you need to present tabular data.

On Uncanny LP, we included a specialized plugin called TablePress to help you create and manage tables. You can embed a table into posts, pages, or text widgets with a simple shortcode. Table data can be edited in a speadsheet-like interface, so no coding is necessary. Your tables can contain any type of data, even formulas that will be evaluated. There are also additional settings that allow your site visitors to interact with tables such as sorting, filtering or searching data. We’ll cover all these in the following video tutorial.

Tip: You can create a complicated table and then customize its look, or even content, on different pages by including different parameters in your shortcode. This means you don’t need to create duplicates in order to reuse the same table, and you can show/hide different areas of the table each time it’s presented to emphasis content relevant to the page. You can find more information about the available shortcode parameters on TablePress documentation site.
